February Freeze Fly - Success! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Hal Roberts

The Freeze Fly held on Prior Lake this weekend (Saturday February 2nd) was a success with pretty good weather (28F and winds below 5mph for the most part) and about 16 pilots throughout the day. The only weather complaint was that we could have used more sun!

T-rex's dominated with 600Es, 600Ns, a couple new 500Es and lots of 450's. The food, gourmet chili and tomatillo salsa and chips, got good reviews (thanks to Joan Angelis, my chef wife). The only significant mishap was your's truly firing up his T-rex 600 with a Trex 500 model selected on his transmitter. No sooner did it spool up (with idle-up switch already thrown) when the 600 started to lean forward. Pulling back on the elevator sealed it's fate because the servos were reversed and the 600 did a nose-stand and the carbon blades were toast. All without even getting off of the ice. Cry

The Glasers took photos including 'Sky Cam' aerial shots from Mike's Slow Stik. See more photos in photo Gallery.
