More Indoor Flying at The 10 Dome

Our next scheduled indoor flying time will once again be at The 10 Dome on Wednesday January 4th, from 7pm to 10pm. See the Dome's website for address and directions.
This is a fantastic venue for indoor flying. It is a little more expensive to rent than the gym space we had last year, so unfortunately the price will go up from $15 per person to $20. AMA membership is required, so please bring your card!
With 65 foot cielings and a double indoor soccer field for space, it's much more room that we are used to. Although a 450 3D routine takes up pretty much all of the available space, you could easily fly micro helis and foamy planes at the same time. Lets get everyone out there and have some fun!

The weather was nice at the Ten Dome on on Wednesday, December 7th! Around 15 MRCHA members attended the "meeting" (basically 5 minutes of showing off our mcpx mods including Jens awesome pink version) and then we flew from 7PM to 10PM. It was a great venue and a great time. At one point there must have been 8 mcpx helis in the air at the same time.. it looked like a swarm of bees! Dan and Rob did some nice 3D flying with their 450 sized helis. Thanks Donny for the time at the dome and hopefully we will be working out some more time soon.

Our December club meeting will be held at The 10 Dome, on Wednesday, December 7th, from 7PM to 10PM. The owner, Donny Mark, has graciously allowed us to have our club meeting in the lobby and then afterwards we will get a special rate to try out the dome for $10 - $20 per person. I think the final price will be dependent on how many people show up, so lets set a record attendance for this club meeting!
The dome is a great flying space, and is much larger than we are used to. Hopefully after we all see it, we can decide if we want to spend a little extra to do some flying here. Bring anything you have 450 or smaller if you want to fly! Here is the address:

Club Meeting - Indoor Flying Planning

As the weather cools and the days shorten, we will need to have a meeting and get some volunteers to help plan this winters indoor flying season. Ted has kindly arranged this for us. The meeting will be November 8th from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Davanni's in Richfield, located at 6345 Penn Ave S, Richfield, MN 55423.
I can't stress enough that we will need some help in locating additional flying areas for this year. Our understanding is that the Bloomington space will not be available. If you liked flying indoor with us last year, and/or are looking forward to it this year, please call your local high school gymnasiums or any other indoor space that may be in your area, and find out if they are agreeable to talking with us about renting time.
It would be greatly prefered to be able to have this meeting with the information on availability and cost of various spaces instead of using the time to brainstorm about how to locate areas to fly! We look forward to a good turnout at this meeting - see you all there!

This will be the last outdoor RC Helicopter Event of 2012 in Minnesota.
